Insurance and Registration

Hello everyone.
I have just arrived in Poland ( Warsaw ) and need to get my 1997 1.3i tested and registered and Insured.. Any recommendations please..A great mechanic and bodywork shop recommendation would also be great. Thank you

Hi Bill,

As for technical official checkup for registering purposes I suggest you to go to "Stacja Kontroli Pojazdów" on Burakowska 14 Street. The guy is very forgiving and loves unusual cars. Even if smth won't be in mint condition he will explain and suggest repairing and put a stamp.

Re registration it depends in which district you are staying and (if applicable) registered yourself as and expat/resident.

I needed 30 days insurance and recently signed documents with Link4 but they have moderate opinion this days. Best way is to go to https://rankomat.pl/kalkulator/oc-ac/ and try input data. Or you can wait for the other people here that will provide more direct assistance.

Last but not least the "mechanic/bodywork" question. There are couple gentlemen here that are good dealing with Mini Classic: monsterk, flapjck1, miniwaldi, sebek81 (all located near Warsaw). I think they will come forward and introduce themselves in some time or surely will respond to your PM.

Most helpfull. I will try that garage. As for the bodywork I wait for those gentlemen to contact me as I need help doing this and best have someone with experience and professional that mess it up myself.
Once all ready I would love to join one of the rides / meetings that you have.

Hi Bill. I am new to this forum as well. You've got minor advantage - you own a mini and I am just planning to buy one.
Hopefully we will be able to meet in Warsaw soon.
